Solidarity Mourning Tent for Awda Hathaleen

In response to Umm al-Khair residents’ call for international solidarity with their hunger strike, Jewish Voice for Peace Chicago, IfNotNow Chicago, and other local friends of Awdah Hathaleen will be erecting a mourning tent on Sunday, August 10, from 3-9pm in the green space north of Montrose Beach, at the intersection of Lawrence Ave and Simonds Drive near the playground.

Please join us for any or all of that time to mourn together, hear comrades of Awdah’s honor his memory, and write to our elected officials.

Especially if you’re not able to join us in person, please use the tool linked in our bio to contact our senators and representatives to demand that they act immediately to bring Awdah home and end settler violence in Masafer Yatta.
