Content: Join us for a screening and discussion of ‘The Pendleton 2: They Stood Up’ to commemorate Black August! This 2023 film details the events that took place on February 1st, 1985 when two political prisoners, John “Balagoon” Cole and Christopher “Naeem” Trotter, took action to save another man’s life from racist prison guards. The film highlights the brutality of the prison system and how the state responds to those who dare challenge it. Stay after the film for a group discussion on the importance of rallying to free all political prisoners in the United States.
