Content: Too many Chicagoans have recently lost their jobs in violence prevention, case management, senior services, disease surveillance, mental health, or some other essential human service because the Chicago Department of Public Health is losing funding. Even people who do not work for CDPH directly are being affected. What can we do about it? Support The Public Health & Safety Campaign! Please register at the link below. Chicago has an opportunity to reallocate $52 million back into CDPH without raising taxes. In last year’s budget, we had $170 million of police vacancies that has gone unspent. No other department has vacancies to this degree, or would be allowed to every year for the last 8 years. Let’s restore these public health jobs and invest in what works to increase the peace! Free lunch provided.
