Stand with Sandra!
Drop the Charges!
It is right to rebel against ICE!

Background

Last October 23rd Sandra Infante was unjustly arrested by Chicago Police in Little Village. Sandra had been sitting in her home with her eldest daughter alerted her to the presence of ICE in their neighborhood and that a crowd of people were gathering to confront them.

Wanting to take a stand and show ICE they weren't welcome, Sandra and her daughter went out to confront and protest ICE. While trying to protect her neighbors from being kidnapped, Larry Snelling's CPD pigs quickly swooped in on the crowd of protesters and protected federal agents. Instead of preventing the ICE Nazis from grabbing people or shooting them, CPD instead took aim at Sandra and others protesters at the scene.

Sandra was arrested and charged with felony assault, battery to a police officer and resisting arrest. The charges stem from the word of the arresting officer, Monica Gonzalez, who we believe lied against Sandra to justify her arrest. Sandra was arrested after federal agents deployed tear gas and pepper spray at protesters and attacked them, including a Juarez High School student who they briefly detained and left bloodied.

Sandra joins the Broadview 4 and hundreds of other protesters arrested and forced to fight bogus charges for protesting ICE during Operation Midway Blitz.

How bogus are these cases? With a 0-87 fed case record nad more than 60 cases for anti-ICE protesters dropped in Chicago, it's likely these cases will fall apart. Just last Tuesday, federal prosecutors threw out conspiracy charges against the Broadview 4, charges that no basis in evidence in the first place, leaving only their misdemeanor charges intact.

While protesters like Sandra continue to be dragged through court, ICE agents are allowed to skirt accountability. Despite the "sanctuary status" declared by politicians like Brandon Johnson and JB Pritzker, both the Illinois State Police (ISP) and Chicago Police have been responsible for the bulk of the ICE protest-related arrests. Several months since the attempted murder of Marimar Martinez by Border Patrol agent Charles Exum, and the murder of Silverio Villegas Gonzalez, no charges have been filed against ICE. Instead, all we've seen is an endless stream of promises, with no action.
