Content: International Workers' Day began right here in Chicago! The Haymarket Affair remains a significant chapter of not only our history as a union city, but in the global struggle for proletariat liberation. On May Day, we celebrate the workers who fought before us, and the workers who continue the struggle today. Join CODEPINK Chicago for our next book club meeting! This month, we will be reading Death in the Haymarket by James Green. While you're more than welcome to read the whole book, our discussion will focus on chapters 2-3, 7-11, + 15-16. Copies are available for purchase at @pilsencommunitybooks and @sandmeyers_books ! ⏰ 3:30-4:30pm (CST) After our meeting, we will view the Haymarket Memorial located just down the street from the pub, near the original Haymarket Square. 🚩
