Torturous conditions inside detention centers are designed to push immigrants desperate for relief into self-deporting. Even as the number of detainees has dropped at Broadview since its height last fall, immigrants continue to be
processed at the facility. If they withstand the conditions at Broadview, they will be transferred to worse detention facilities elsewhere that could prompt them to self-deport. In sum, so long as Broadview and other detention facilities remain standing, the deportations will continue.
Now immigrants in ICE detention facilities strike and demand these facilities are shutdown, we must ask ourselves: what must we do to shutdown Broadview? Join us on June 27th and beyond to fight to see Broadview and all detention facilities shutdown!
