📖🎬🇵🇸 Join us for the Ghassan Kanafani Tribute Discussion Series, a four-part series honoring the Palestinian revolutionary, intellectual, educator, journalist, and novelist around the anniversary of his assassination.

Kanafani’s work centers around a fundamental question we grapple with in the diaspora: what is a homeland? We will explore this question through two of his most enduring short stories and their film adaptations, presented alongside the Chicago Palestine Film Festival.

Although Ghassan Kanafani was assassinated by the Mossad (Israel’s intelligence service) in Beirut on July 8, 1972, his intellectual and revolutionary legacy has endured. Nearly 55 years after his martyrdom, the continued importance of his work underscores its lasting significance on the Palestinian national identity and affirms his legacy as one worthy of being honored through the continued study of his contributions.
