Expel rapists, not protesters!

Socialist Alternative is joining the @womensmarch on October 8 for the national day of action “From the Frat House to the White House, Stop Sexual Assault.” Chicago Socialist Alternative will be hosting a rally for this day of action on UIC’s Quad, at 12PM.

The capitalist courts and institutions will never hold abusers accountable without the pressure of a mass movement, and it is up to students and young women to get involved and inspire others to do the same.

A mass discussion has erupted about sexual violence against women on campuses and in US society more broadly. This comes in the context of the already-existing outrage around the Epstein files, the P Diddy trial, and of course the proud rapist who occupies the White House, as well as the clawing back of key gains of the women’s movement, with the overturn of Roe v. Wade and other attacks.

A strength of the #MeToo movement was actions that took place in workplaces, like the 20,000 strong multi-gender walkout of Google workers. This is the type of struggle that’s needed again today.
