🔥 Gather around the fire for a night of tales from beyond…

Join us for stories from The Hidden Companion: Paranormals from the Old City of al-Quds, a compilation of jinn tales published by the Fiction Council in Palestine. 📖 ✨ 🇵🇸

Founder and author Ahmad Nabil describes stories of jinn as belonging to “our landscape, our language, and our ways of sensing what lies just beyond the visible.” Resharing these stories is critical to keeping our imagination alive in a crucial moment where we are experiencing stronger efforts to dismantle our struggle for freedom and undo the wins we have achieved the past 3 years.

We’ll share tales of the hidden once sung on human tongue, gathered around bonfire, serving apple cider and s’mores as we settle into the Chicago autumn. We welcome attendees to share family stories of encounters with our hidden companions.

This event is free, but will ask for donations to support families struggling this winter. ❤️ Please bring cash if you have some resources to share, as well as chairs, blankets or anything else you need to cozy up around the fire. We’ll see you there!
