CTU Local 1 and Chicago Fire Fighters Local 2 have joined forces, issuing a solidarity statement, urging the city and its respective departments and agencies to settle their contracts.

Chicago’s educators and firefighters are united in our mission to serve the common good of our city.

Parents wake up and drop their children off to educators who start each day dedicated to providing a joyful environment for them to learn, grow, and nurture their passions while all Chicagoans go to sleep easier with the knowledge there are firefighters who are ready to keep our families, homes, and neighborhoods safe.

While our members have honored their commitments to their work and to our city, they have done so without the security of a contract and without the staffing and resources they need to adequately serve the public.

We stand together in solidarity of each others’ contract demands as they are foundations to a stronger school system for our children and a better emergency response network to keep us all safe.

Our two unions will join together this Monday morning, March 24, 2025 at 9am for a rally for our contracts. All CTU and Fire Fighters Local 2 members, and community allies are invited to attend.
