Chicago Activist Coalition For Justice host the action "BOYCOTT 4TH OF JULY". It is a day of action to invite causes and advocates to a central place to protest.

This is CACFJ 5th year of holding this annual "Boycott of 4th July" on the largest day as to when Americanism is at its peak. America can declare independence, but there's no independence for immigrants, Palestinians, Wrongful Convictions, Trans/Queer or LGBTQ community, Union Workers, Families Impacted by Police Brutality and more.

Chicago Sun-Times reports, "The demonstration was organized by activist Rabbi Michael Ben Yosef, who spoke at the rally and quoted Frederick Douglass’ 1852 speech, “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?”

“[It is] a day that reveals to him, more than all other days in the year, the gross injustice and cruelty to which he is the constant victim,” Yosef said, quoting Douglass. “To him, your celebration is a sham.”

“There’s not a nation as guilty as America,” he said.
