Calling All Filipino Domestic Workers in Chicago!

Are you or your clients/employers being impacted by the Federal budget cuts to Medicaid? Do you want to meetand discuss your concerns with other Filipino Domestic Workers in Chicago?

Join AFIRE at our upcoming community event centering domestic workers.

“Domestic work is the work that makes all other work possible.” Though 2.2 million domestic workers provide services in the U.S. alone, care jobs are becoming one of the fastest growing jobs with few protections. In these uncertain times, it is important to ensure care jobs center the workers, with better pay, benefits, and workplace protections. Join us to learn how the combination of U.S. immigration policy and the longstanding struggle for worker protections has become critical for domestic workers today, and what we can do now to support this essential group of workers. Lunch will be provided. Please RSVP to help us plan for lunch and seating, thank you.

Seeding AFIRE is a community education space for community and AFIRE members to gather and engage in topics that inform and impact our work. It is a space for us as individuals to reflect on our personal connections to larger oppressive systems and critically assess our roles inside of them.
