Banned Books Silent Read-in

Content: We'll provide cozy refreshments and invite readers to come in and read their favorite banned book; feel free to BYO or buy one from our display! We will also encourage participants to contribute to our "Why I Read Banned Books" mural that, when complete, will hang in our front window. At 6:15 p.m., our friends at Writers for Democratic Action will present a reading of "Ban the Bans," a new one act play that dramatizes the American refusal to accept state forbidden expression and thought. Lastly, our Banned Books Group will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. to discuss Native Son by Richard Wright. Join us for some or all of the evening's programming!
