Content: Film screening, panel discussion, + Q&A. You are invited to attend a free film screening of Call Her Ganda with a panel discussion immediately following. This event is organized by the Chicago DSA and PUSO Chicago. When Jennifer Laude, a Filipina trans woman, is brutally murdered by a U.S. Marine, three women intimately invested in the case–an activist attorney (Virgie Suarez), a transgender journalist (Meredith Talusan) and Jennifer’s mother (Julita “Nanay” Laude)–galvanize a political uprising, pursuing justice and taking on hardened histories of US imperialism. We will have a political discussion around this movie about US imperialism, gender under colonialism and how it relates to people in the US. @ the Leather Archives & Museum Doors open at 6:30pm, Film starts at 7pm and Panel Discussion at 8pm RSVP here, limited seats: https://actionnetwork.org/events/call-her-ganda-film-screening/
