Content: EDITOR'S NOTE: THIS EVENT IS CANCELLED due to the ICE/CBP murder in Minneapolis this morning. FILM SCREENING: Join us for a screening and a discussion of the 2003 documentary "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised." This powerful film features on-the-ground footage and interviews taken during the attempted US-backed coup against Venezuelan president Hugo Chávez in 2002. Through a careful deconstruction of the narrative pushed by corporate news networks, it shows how these institutions manipulate stories to push an agenda that favors profits over people. Ultimately, the film reveals that the real power is with the people. As we fight back against another assault on the people and sovereignty of Venezuela, this important context can inform how we analyze the situation and where we go from here. Through this lens, we can see that the fight back against the Trump administration's war on our communities and war on Venezuela are not just connected, they are the same struggle! We'll follow the film with a discussion on the situation at home, abroad, and how we can come together to organize against ICE, U.S. imperialism and the billionaires' agenda.
